Mingi Hyun
Founder & Managing Director
Mingi Hyun is the founder and managing director of Polemos Advisors. Drawing on deep expertise in international security, defense industry, and global communications, Mingi advises organizations navigating complex geopolitical environments and emerging defense markets. In parallel, he also serves as a Distinguished Research Fellow at YCAPS, where his research topics include the development of naval force structures and the implications of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and uncrewed systems, on regional security.

Previously, he held senior roles at Samsung’s global headquarters in Korea, leading global communications and business development initiatives for Samsung’s technology and biopharmaceutical businesses. He has also advised multinational clients at top global communications agencies.

Mingi’s early career in defense analysis at the Korea Institute for Maritime Strategy (KIMS) and AMI International informs his comprehensive approach to advising clients at the intersection of defense, policy, and communications.
​
He holds an MA in History of Warfare and a BA (Hons) in War Studies from King’s College London, and is an active member of several professional associations in defense and security. Mingi is based in New Jersey.
